But of course! On Tuesday Colin and I took a tour of the Maplewood Mall parking lot, where a massive project is underway to improve water quality and impact public education.

More about what we learned on the We Work Here blog.

Still from “The longer I sit, the less inclined I am to stand up” (2006-07)
Techtonic Industries will be joining us next Tuesday on Salon Saloon, the live action arts magazine that I co-produce with my husband Colin Kloecker, and the wonderful Andy Sturdevant. In browsing the website for Techtonic Industries, I remembered a great video project they did a few years ago that my friend Melissa, pictured here while cooking in real time to one of Rachel Ray’s television cooking shows, participated in. This made me sad (Melissa I miss you) and happy (I will get to meet Lars and Helen, who you always speak so highly of).
You should all come to Salon Saloon. It’s right before Thanksgiving, and we are not your family.

So not only did we raise $775 yesterday for the Works Progress Project Fund, but Jay Isenburg won us an extra $1,000 on top of that!

    Wait, what!?!?

I think we owe Jay a beer. Thank you to all 31 of you that donated yesterday, your support means the world to us.

We’d also like to thank GiveMN for creating the platform for so much good.Over 9 MILLION dollars was raised in one day for all kinds of arts, social, and environmental projects in Minnesota.

I’ll be attempting to wrap my head around that for a while, but I don’t need to do the numbers to know that’s an incredibly powerful thing.

  4. Works Progress to the Max!

In case you haven’t heard it from all of your other not-for-profit friends: it’s Give to the Max Day today! Works Progress is fundraising to support our work making independent public programs and projects. We’re small, so every little bit goes a long way. Your donation directly supports Works Progress projects like Give & Take & Salon Saloon. Click the link below to make a donation between $10 and 10 bazillion dollars!
